Fitness has always been a part of my life, but became a true passion for me after I had my first baby. After pregnancy, my goals were to just get back in shape but I found fitness was giving me so much more. My mind needed it as much (or more) as my body and I found that it became less and less about the way I looked and more about how working out made me feel. Every time I walked outside to go for a run or make my way to a class I immediately felt a little better. I became a big advocate of “stressing your body to de-stress your mind.”
I didn’t go back to my full time job after maternity leave so I decided to put my energy where my passion was and get certified to teach classes. That was almost 11 years ago and one of the best decisions I’ve made. From cycle, to HIIT, to kickboxing, I’ve taught a little of it all and have enjoyed each path. Hybrid Fit has been one of my all time favorite to coach AND take.
With the craziness of being a wife and mom to 3 very active daughters, I understand the importance of taking care of yourself. If you don’t, who will? My favorite part of coaching is watching the evolution someone goes through from the first time they walk through our doors, a little wary and intimidated, to the confident beasts they become after working their tails off.
